A romantic comedy about a young couple at a turning point in their relationship. Sam adores Amy's fun-loving attitude and creativity; Amy is taken by Sam's kindness, decency, and intelligence. They seem to be heading down a long-term relationship path. One summer day, Amy persuades Sam to take off work and join her for a date in an outdoor beer garden near their apartment in New York City. While enjoying the sunshine and refreshment, Amy proposes to Sam that they take a break from MONOGAMY for the summer. In other words, until the last day of summer (Monday, September 23rd, by Amy’s calculation) they are each free to sleep with whoever they want. Sam is totally opposed. In the end, Sam and Amy will have to decide what they are willing to give up if they're going to continue to love each other.
